The Texas Region is one of the largest regions in Phi Theta Kappa with 90 chapters. The Region is divided into five Districts managed by District and Associate District Coordinators. The leadership team consists of the Regional and Associate Regional Coordinators, the Comptroller and Advisor to the Region, the Advisory Board, the District and Associate District Coordinators, the Director of College Relations, the TRAA Advisor and Treasurer, the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, and the Texas Regional Officers. The first Regional Coordinator was Cliff Wood followed by Dr. Mary Hood. Debbra Esparza is the current Texas Regional Coordinator, having served for the past seven years.
The first State Convention was held during the 1964-1965 Academic Year. The Region currently hosts three annual events: the Texas Regional Convention (March), Texas Honors Institute (July), and Texas Leadership Conference (October).
The Texas Region has been consistently recognized as a Distinguished Region for for over 10 years and has many award-winning chapters and advisors.
